The Sam Morrison Band has been active in its current Southern Rock form since 2000. Southern Rock Explosion grows out of that original-band identity, not the other way around.

Sam’s Southern Rock story is built on collision: his own country roots meeting bandmates with heavier backgrounds, then finding common ground in music that could carry both. Turn The Page arrived later, almost accidentally, when Bob Seger requests kept multiplying. The tribute became successful because Sam treated it as music rather than impersonation. Campus JAX adds another chapter by putting those worlds next to each other. A sold-out Southern Rock Explosion show tells you about the bandleader. The Sam Morrison Band and Turn The Page share musicians but ask different questions. One carries the band’s own Southern Rock identity; the other asks those same players to inhabit a beloved catalog with precision.
