MEET THE ARTIST

Michael O’Mara

Rock vocalist and frontman of RockShow Inc. and Zeppelin Revisited. A familiar voice at Campus JAX, Michael O’Mara has also made guest appearances with The Bangers and previously sang with the K-Tel All-Stars.

A great rock frontman gives a familiar song somewhere new to go. Michael brings the voice, the gesture and the invitation to sing along—whether the evening explores one band’s catalog or moves across the records that filled a generation’s shelves.

There is a 1970s chapter, too.

Michael’s earlier work as lead vocalist of the K-Tel All-Stars placed him inside a full-band celebration of 1970s music.

GUNZO

The road runs beyond the tribute stage.

Gunzo put Michael on tour with Tracii Guns and Rudy Sarzo. In a 2015 interview, Guns described Andrew Freeman recommending Michael for the group.

THE STORY

The singer at the center. The bands around him.

Michael O’Mara with Zeppelin Revisited at Campus JAX; undated archival frame.

Michael O’Mara’s musical life connects the concentrated world of a single band’s songs with the wider sweep of classic rock. At Campus JAX, audiences know him at the front of Zeppelin Revisited, alongside guitarist Steve Zukowsky, bassist and keyboardist Jeff Mayer, and drummer Jimmy “The Hammer” Schultz. The quartet’s Led Zeppelin repertoire gives his voice a setting built around the interplay of four musicians. RockShow Inc. opens that frame. Michael shares the stage with Steve and Billy Alexander on lead guitars, Matt Brown on keyboards, Jeff on bass and Jimmy on drums. The band draws from the vinyl-and-cassette era, with a repertoire that moves among artists rather than staying inside a single tribute. His history in the room includes guest appearances with The Bangers and an earlier chapter as lead vocalist of the K-Tel All-Stars. Those settings ask for different colors: British-rock theater, 1970s ensemble singing, and the direct connection of a frontman facing an audience. Away from JAX, he toured with Tracii Guns and Rudy Sarzo in Gunzo, performed in Las Vegas’ Raiding the Rock Vault, and appeared on AXS TV’s The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands with Pyromania and True 2 Crue. His band California Kings also opened for comedian George Lopez. Together, those chapters give context to the performer at the microphone today. Start with a concert, explore the photographs, and hear how the same singer moves among different bands and musical worlds.
