Flugelhorn, piano trio & string quartet · An intimate orchestral jazz night
Tony Guerrero brings his lyrical trumpet and flugelhorn voice into one of the most intimate settings of his long Orange County career: a jazz rhythm section framed by a four-piece string section. The ensemble pairs Guerrero with violinists Lisa Dondlinger and Laurann Angel, violist Rhea Hosanny, cellist Ginger Murphy, pianist Jeremy Siskind, bassist Lyman Medeiros and drummer Charles Ruggiero. The format connects several threads in Guerrero’s music — melody first, chamber color, Latin and Brazilian warmth, and the conversational approach heard in his 2024 MetaJAX duo album Duo Tones with Siskind.
