Tony Guerrero’s 60th Birthday Show
Tony at 60 — Campus JAX resident artist, MetaJAX producer and JAXhideaway’s most-broadcast artist.
On his 60th birthday, Tony Guerrero celebrates the way a musician should: onstage at Campus JAX, surrounded by longtime collaborators, surprise guests and a room that has become an important part of his musical life. Tony is woven into the fabric of the JAX ecosystem. He is one of Campus JAX’s resident artists, the most-broadcast artist across JAXblast — especially JAXhideaway — and a principal producer behind the MetaJAX catalog, including Arturo Sandoval’s Rhythm & Soul and My Foolish Heart, Lia Booth’s Life Can Be Beautiful, Tony Guerrero & Jeremy Siskind’s Duo Tones, and Elena Gilliam’s Shall We Dance. Tonight’s quintet features Tony Guerrero on trumpet and flugelhorn, Mark Visher on saxophone, Dave Siebels on organ, David Miller on bass and Matt Johnson on drums, plus surprise guests. This is more than a birthday gig. It is a marker in an artist’s life — and a celebration of someone whose fingerprints are on both sides of the Campus JAX story: onstage as an artist, and behind the glass helping build what the music leaves behind.
