Award-winning blues-rock guitarist and vocalist, Guitarmageddon national finalist, longtime touring partner of former Boston guitarist David Victor, and leader of Stevie Ray Visited.

Boston’s guitars are engineered with almost architectural precision. Roby Duron comes from the opposite-looking tradition — Texas blues, attack, feel and danger. The interesting part is how naturally those worlds meet in his hands.

The risk in recreating Boston is obvious: the more carefully you reproduce the record, the easier it is to turn the performance into a diagram. Roby Duron is one antidote to that problem. His background is rooted in blues-rock — touch, dynamics, attack and the feeling that a phrase is happening now. But Roby is not arriving at Boston cold. A decade alongside David Victor gave him deep practical experience with the catalog. In Classic Vinyl Live, those two histories meet: he respects the engineering, then puts blood back into it.
