THE STORY

The story

Michael Olivieri’s career traces an unusually wide arc. He spent multiple periods as vocalist and guitarist with Huntington Beach heavy-metal band Leatherwolf, then used his solo work to open the palette considerably. Goodbye Rain, released in 2009, reached into R&B, country, folk and melodic rock, while the Michael Olivieri Band’s Love Is Contagious in 2020 leaned into blues-based rock with soulful and Southern influences. His current work brings those strands together as a singer, songwriter and guitarist moving across Americana, rock, soul, blues and country.

RECORDINGS & MEDIA

Beyond one genre

Two releases make the evolution easy to hear: Goodbye Rain widened Olivieri’s vocabulary into R&B, country, folk and melodic rock; Love Is Contagious later centered an eight-song blend of blues-based rock, soul and Southern influence.
