Mark James Wood

Mark James Wood has spent most of his life onstage. He began performing professionally at age eleven and built a repertoire of more than 2,500 songs spanning rock, pop, country and standards, alongside a catalog of original music. A singer, guitarist and pianist, Mark is also the founder of Mark Wood Entertainment, the Southern California entertainment and production company he grew out of decades of live performance. His original work has been featured in PBS television specials, and his range as a performer is matched by an unusually deep instinct for reading a room. At Campus JAX, Mark is more than a recurring artist: he is one of the connective figures in the venue’s musical life. JAX Jukebox Wednesday turns his encyclopedic songbook into an audience-driven request show; JAX SongStage gives his original writing a home; JAX DUOS highlights his collaborative side; and his Parrot Head Band and long-running Mark Wood & Friends holiday shows reveal yet more of the same musical range.
