MEET THE ARTIST

Lia Booth

Southern California jazz vocalist whose supple phrasing, rhythmic imagination and conversational delivery bring a personal point of view to the American songbook. A MetaJAX recording artist, Lia Booth moves between intimate duos, swinging ensembles and three-part vocal harmony.

A familiar song becomes interesting again when a singer finds something new inside it. Lia’s appeal lives in that exchange: respect for the melody, freedom in the phrasing, and room for the band to answer.

THREE VOICES, ONE MUSICAL IDEA

Lia in Lady Parts.

THE STORY

The standard is a starting point.

Lia Booth singing at Campus JAX on September 20, 2026, in the original MetaJAX broadcast capture

Lia’s path runs through vocal-jazz ensembles, Southern California listening rooms and a growing recorded catalog. The thread is musical conversation. In a duo, each breath and harmonic turn has space around it. In an ensemble, a phrase can become an invitation to the next player. With Lady Parts, the conversation becomes three-part harmony. Campus JAX has heard these different sides of her work over years of performances, from her own groups and a Peggy Lee tribute to collaborations with Bill Cantos and Tony Guerrero. The photograph here comes from September 20, 2026, at Tony’s birthday celebration—the earlier performance preserved in her No. 016-A Momento. Her October 25, 2026 headlining show is another chapter in that continuing JAX story.
