MEET THE ARTIST

Last Shot Band

Orange County classic rock with more history onstage than the set list alone suggests. Six musicians bring distinct careers, scenes and musical lives into one band built around songs audiences already know by heart.

Last Shot Band works because the repertoire is only half the story. Howard Fishbein and Lee Offenhauer share a musical connection documented back to Irvine Meadows. Lexi Castle carries a voice heard at Angel Stadium. Jeff Hale brings decades of Southern California music-making and the Ronstadt Revival connection. Albert Wainer brings an international touring chapter. Put them together and familiar songs arrive with lived-in perspective rather than nostalgia alone.

WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW THEM

Four threads behind the band.

01

THE LONG THREAD

Howard + Lee go back to Irvine Meadows.

Howard “Dr. Fish” Fishbein and Lee Offenhauer were already bandmates in Dr. Rock when the group played Irvine Meadows in 1990 and returned for a benefit in 1991. More than three decades later, that musical relationship is still onstage.

02

THE VOICE

Lexi has sung to a major-league ballpark.

Alexandra “Lexi” Castle performed the National Anthem at the Los Angeles Angels’ 2026 home opener — another side of the lead vocalist at the center of Last Shot Band.

03

THE JAX CONNECTION

Jeff is already part of the Campus JAX story.

Jeff Hale is also a member of Ronstadt Revival, where his official biography traces decades as a Southern California musician, recording engineer, producer, songwriter and performer.

04

THE ROAD

Al’s drumming story crosses continents.

Albert Wainer’s published professional biography describes twelve years working and touring across South America as a professional drummer before he moved to the United States in 1981.

THE STORY

More than a cover band.

Classic rock from the 1960s through the 2000s gives Last Shot Band its songbook, but the musicians give it its point of view. Howard Fishbein handles keyboards and the room; Lee Offenhauer and Jeff Hale bring guitars and vocals from different corners of the Southern California scene; Lexi Castle takes the lead vocal chair; Albert Wainer drives the band from the drums; and Joe Mazzarella anchors it on bass. The interesting part is what sits underneath those roles. Howard and Lee have shared musical history reaching back more than thirty years. Lexi’s voice has carried the National Anthem through Angel Stadium. Jeff’s wider work includes Ronstadt Revival and decades of recording and performance. Al’s published story begins in Buenos Aires and runs through years of professional touring in South America. The songs are familiar. The people playing them have their own history. That is what makes the room worth hearing.

RECORDINGS & MEDIA

This isn’t their first night in the room.

Tonight adds another chapter to a Campus JAX history that is already preserved on video. The Campus JAX Live archive contains three confirmed earlier Last Shot Band broadcasts — January 4, 2025, June 13, 2025, and January 24, 2026 — so JAXblast can show the band across visits rather than as a one-night snapshot.

JAN 4, 2025: The archive begins here.
