MEET THE ARTIST

Scot Bruce

The King before the jumpsuits.

Scot Bruce goes back to the moment before the rhinestones—when Elvis Presley was a young singer with a guitar and rock & roll still felt dangerous. What began as a part-time 1950s Elvis gig while Scot pursued music and acting unexpectedly became a full-time career, taking him across the U.S. and around the world.

KEEP DIGGING

Three things worth knowing.

It started as a side gig

A working drummer and radio personality, Scot began performing 1950s-era Elvis while pursuing music and acting. What was meant to help cover the lean times unexpectedly became a full-time career.

He sang with Elvis’ own singers

Scot has performed with the Jordanaires, the legendary vocal group that backed Elvis on many of the recordings and performances that helped define his sound.

From the Ryman to Campus JAX — and beyond

Scot’s early-Elvis show has taken him around the world—from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and recurring Disneyland appearances to return engagements at Campus JAX.

BEHIND THE PERFORMANCE

The person is always more interesting than the costume.

Meet the man behind Elvis

Before the pompadour, Scot was a drummer, radio personality and lifelong music fan. Away from the Elvis show, he writes songs, performs an acoustic guitar-and-harmonica act, and has played drums with L.A. rockabilly bands. The tribute may be the doorway, but there is a working musician on the other side of it.
